Ezekiel 47:3-9 (CSB)

“ 3 As the man went out east with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a third of a mile and led me through the water. It came up to my ankles. 4 Then he measured off a third of a mile and led me through the water. It came up to my knees. He measured off another third of a mile and led me through the water. It came up to my waist. 5 Again he measured off a third of a mile, and it was a river that I could not cross on foot. For the water had risen; it was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be crossed on foot. 6 He asked me, ‘Do you see this, son of man?’ Then he led me back to the bank of the river. 7 When I had returned, I saw a very large number of trees along both sides of the riverbank. 8 He said to me, ‘This water flows out to the eastern region and goes down to the Arabah. When it enters the sea, the sea of foul water, the water of the sea becomes fresh. 9 Every kind of living creature that swarms will live wherever the river flows, and there will be a huge number of fish because this water goes there. Since the water will become fresh, there will be life everywhere the river goes.’”

I could write to you and portray a relatable image to help you better understand this passage in Ezekiel, but I believe God has made His Word very clear. He is the provider of life. He brings forth a river of life-giving Spirit to those who trust and abide in Him. He is so sovereign that His Spirit can bring life to the Dead Sea.

How is your walk with the Lord? Are you just testing the waters by sticking a toe in? Are you waist deep afraid to go further? Or are you diving right into the river of life-giving waters?

Prayer
Abba (Father), I pray that you speak to those who read this passage. That when we read it, you will fill us with your Spirit and grant us access to the river of life-giving water. Help us further our relationship with you God. Let us not be only be ankle deep, but rather fully immersed in a relationship with you. Give us confidence in your power to bring life to that which was once thought dead. Guide us closer to your heart so that we may know your works and help to further your plan for this world and your people. Thank you for your sincere mercy and love Yahweh. Amen
